Yobe State Government Assures To Accord Priority To Security And Welfare Of Corp Members

The Yobe State Governor Hon. Mai Mala Buni has assured to accord top most priority to the safety and welfare of prospective corps members serving in the state, The Courage.
The Governor who was represented by his deputy Alhaji Idi Barde Gubana, Stated this during the passing out parade ceremony of BATCH A STREAM 2 corps members who have completed their service year on 4th of April 2024.
The highlight of the event which started around 7:30 am were the withdrawal of the NYSC ID Cards from corps members, denial of certificates and issuance of query forms to some corps members who were involved in truancy, abscondment and other discrepancies in their course of duties.
Subsequently, about 80 corps members’ service year was extended so as to serve as detriments to other serving corps members in Damaturu the capital city of the state.
The ceremony which started on 26th of March came to an end on 4th of April as directed by the Director General of the National Youth Service corps Gen. YD AHMED across the 36 States.
The event was commemorated with handing over of certificates, pictures, dance, gifts and all-rounded excitement between employers and corps members serving in organizations and establishments.
Alhaji Hussaini Hussaini Damaturu zonal inspector charged the passing out corps members to always remember the virtue and unity that the scheme has instilled in them. He reiterated the need for self-employment and berated the corps members to be less dependent on government jobs but rather strive to be productive in their little capacity other than working for others.
